Window Repair on Hansen’s Surf Shop in Encinitas, CA
This was a rare occasion to repair glass other than a windshield. A windshield repair works becuase the glass is laminated. Most glass we find in our day to day lives, like building windows and coffee tables, are tempered. Repairs cannot be peformed on tempered glass. Hansen’s surf shop however, is going through a remodel and had installed expensive laminated glass on the front of the shop that had been chipped. A keen glazier from Carmel Valley Glass relized we could repair the damage without replacing the whole window and had given me a call.
Repair on beautiful 1964 Jeep Gladiator “Storm Runner”
We performed a repair for Bruce Patton of Cardiff, CA. His vehicle was a 1964 Jeep Gladiator, nicknamed “Storm Runner”. The Gladiator is a pick up truck made by Jeep only from 1962-1971 and his particular model was a special make for the U.S. Forestry service. Needless to say, locating a new windshield for a vehicle as rare as this would be a challenge and expensive making the repair of the windshield urgent.
It would be tough to find a truck as beautiful and well maintained as “Storm Runner”, and to our delight the engine inside was that of a 1967 327 Corvette LT1. It sounded like a rocketship starting up. The repair was a success. We’re proud to have been apart of the restoration of such a beautiful and historic vehicle.
